Global Supply Systems Ltd. was set up in 2001
as a British all-cargo carrier whose principal business is providing
aircraft on long-term leases to other airlines on an ACMI (Aircraft,
Crew, Maintenance, Insurance) basis. Operations
commenced on June 29th, 2002 using a B747-400F leased
from Atlas Air Inc. A second similar aircraft joined the fleet in October 2002
and a third arrived in August 2003.
The first customer for
the company is British Airways, on whose behalf we are
operating scheduled services to the Far East, India, the Middle East, Europe and the USA.
It is planned to introduce three Boeing 747-8F aircraft from early 2011 for British Airways World Cargo.
The first of these is pictured (left) rolling out from Boeing's Everett facility in August 2010.
The company is majority British-owned, with Atlas Air Inc. as minority shareholder.
We are based at London Stansted Airport and currently
employ 28 ground staff and 90 pilots.
